The Sindh government has announced plans to distribute pink scooters among women in Hyderabad as part of a broader initiative aimed at improving mobility and encouraging independence for female commuters. The programme follows the successful rollout of the scheme in Sukkur, where women received scooters along with safety equipment and driving support to help them travel more easily for work and education.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the government would expand the project after observing positive results from the Sukkur phase. He explained that the initiative aims to strengthen women’s confidence while providing practical transport solutions that support their daily activities and professional responsibilities across different cities.

Under the programme, eligible women will receive not only free pink scooters but also official driving licences, helmets, and structured training sessions to ensure safe riding. Authorities believe that combining transport access with proper training will help women confidently use roads while reducing dependence on public or private transport services.
Meanwhile, the government is also expanding the Peoples Bus Service network to improve public transportation across Sindh. After earlier expansions in Sukkur and Shikarpur, new routes are being introduced to provide more reliable and affordable travel options for residents in multiple districts.

Officials announced that new bus routes will soon operate between Khairpur and Rohri as well as Khairpur and Rani Po. In addition, services will begin on the Kohsar Haider Chowk route and between Hyderabad and Tando Allahyar to improve regional connectivity.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said these projects focus on delivering practical benefits to the public, especially women, youth, and working-class citizens. He added that the government aims to provide affordable, comfortable, and efficient transportation systems that improve daily life and economic opportunities.
