The Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) organized a special seminar on the growing tensions among the United States, Israel and Iran and their implications for Pakistan and the Middle East. The seminar was attended by prominent defense analysts, diplomats, intellectuals and a large number of students.
The event was attended by Chairman and President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad, former Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, Air Commodore (R) Khalid Chishti, renowned columnist and analyst Orya Maqbool Jan, religious scholar Asif Hameed Israar, Chief Advisor UMT Lieutenant General (R) Javed Hassan, and Chairperson of the Department of Political Science and International Relations Dr. Usman Askari, along with other experts.
Speaking on the occasion, Ibrahim Hasan Murad stated that Pakistan’s leadership is playing an important and constructive role in promoting peace and resolving conflicts in the region amid the current global tensions. He said that emerging new alliances in the Middle East may lead to significant geopolitical changes. He also emphasized that Muslim countries must strengthen unity in view of attempts by Israel to create divisions within the Muslim world.

Air Commodore (R) Khalid Chishti, while discussing the regional security environment, said that due to rising global tensions Pakistan could face multiple challenges related to the economy, energy security, trade and maritime security, which require a comprehensive and forward-looking strategy.
Renowned analyst Orya Maqbool Jan remarked that in the evolving global environment, Arab countries are likely to take effective measures to safeguard their economies, diplomatic standing and regional interests.
Former Ambassador and President of the Institute of Regional Studies, Jauhar Saleem, highlighted the changing political dynamics of the Middle East and stated that Israel has been attempting for decades to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power, while the current tensions also pose a serious challenge to the global economy.
Asif Hameed Israar emphasized that the Muslim world must move forward with unity, wisdom and resilience to effectively respond to the challenges it faces.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Chairman UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad presented souvenirs to the distinguished guests.
