According to official details, eligible beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of up to Rs100 per litre on petrol. Registered motorcycle owners will be able to access between 20 to 30 litres of discounted fuel per month, potentially saving between Rs2,000 and Rs5,000 monthly.
The scheme comes as petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan have surged beyond Rs458 and Rs520 per litre, respectively, largely due to rising global oil prices and ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
To qualify for the subsidy, applicants must meet specific criteria. Their monthly income should be below Rs50,000 to Rs60,000, and the motorcycle must be registered in their name. Additionally, the applicant’s national identity card and mobile SIM must be registered under the same individual to ensure transparency and prevent misuse.
The government has introduced a digital registration system for the programme. Citizens can verify their eligibility by sending their CNIC number and vehicle details to 9771, after which they will receive a confirmation code.
Furthermore, authorities announced that a dedicated “Fuel Subsidy App 2026” will soon be launched. Through this app, users will be able to access subsidised petrol using QR codes at designated fuel stations across the country.
