Dedicated field teams have been deployed at both mosques to ensure the carpets remain in optimal condition. These teams conduct regular inspections, closely monitoring cleanliness and replacing worn-out or damaged carpets caused by continuous use. Authorities emphasise that maintaining a clean and comfortable prayer environment is a top priority.

The carpets have been specially designed with durable materials to withstand heavy foot traffic while providing comfort for worshippers during prayers. Officials noted that the quality of the carpets is carefully selected to ensure long-term usability without compromising on hygiene or appearance.

In addition to installation, strict safety and sanitation measures are being implemented in the cleaning and maintenance process. Regular washing, sanitisation, and timely replacement of carpets are carried out to uphold high hygiene standards at the holy sites.

The move reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued focus on improving services for pilgrims and visitors, ensuring that facilities at the Two Holy Mosques meet international standards while preserving the sanctity of the sites.
