England beats New Zealand, Pakistan’s semifinal hopes alive

In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Super 8 stage, England defeated New Zealand by four wickets, keeping Pakistan’s semifinal hopes alive. The match, played in Colombo, saw New Zealand bat first after captain Mitchell Santner won the toss. England chased the target successfully in the final over, reaching 160 for 6 and topping the group with six points.

New Zealand posted 159 for 7 in their 20 overs. Glenn Phillips scored 39, Tim Seifert made 35, and Finn Allen contributed 29 runs. England’s bowlers were effective, with Will Jacks, Rehan Ahmed, and Adil Rashid taking two wickets each.
