Galaxy S26 ultra set to outshine iPhone 17 pro max

Published on: February 23, 2026 7:15 PM

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, set to be unveiled on February 25, is creating a buzz with features that could challenge Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max. Despite the six-month gap between launches, the new flagship promises innovations that may give Samsung a clear edge over its competitor. Experts say the S26 Ultra’s combination of privacy, camera, and performance improvements positions it as a serious contender in the premium smartphone market.

The standout feature of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is its rumoured privacy display, designed to restrict viewing angles for sensitive information like notifications and banking apps. This innovation aims to protect users’ personal data from onlookers, giving Samsung a notable advantage over Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max. Privacy-conscious consumers may find this feature particularly appealing as it adds a layer of security to everyday smartphone usage.

Another major upgrade is the enhanced camera setup. The S26 Ultra will reportedly feature a quad-camera system with a remarkable 200 MP main sensor, including a telephoto lens for versatile photography. By comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max offers three rear cameras. This additional lens improves zoom capabilities and overall photo quality, catering to photography enthusiasts who value precision and clarity in their shots.

Performance and battery improvements further elevate the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is expected to support 60W wired charging, significantly faster than the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s 40W option. Combined with the retention of Samsung’s anti-reflective display technology, the S26 Ultra promises enhanced visibility in bright environments, giving users a practical and enjoyable experience outdoors.

The faster charging, innovative display, and superior camera make the S26 Ultra a compelling choice for tech enthusiasts. While Apple continues to dominate in some areas, Samsung’s latest flagship seems poised to attract consumers seeking both functionality and privacy. Industry analysts believe the Galaxy S26 Ultra could redefine expectations for flagship devices.

As launch day approaches during Galaxy Unpacked 2026, anticipation is high among tech fans worldwide. With privacy-focused features, powerful cameras, and enhanced charging capabilities, Samsung appears ready to position the S26 Ultra as a formidable competitor against the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Consumers will likely compare the two closely once both devices are widely available.
