Memon backs resolution against creation of Karachi province

Published on: February 22, 2026 2:07 AM

Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has fully supported the resolution presented by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in the Sindh Assembly and said that the resolution presented by the Sindh Chief Minister will be supported by everyone who has reached this house legally.

He said that MQM member Taha Ahmed Khan admitted that he came through Form 47. If he had not come through Form 47, he would have supported this resolution.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the people of every city of Sindh including Karachi are aware, there are people elected from every district here and those who came through any other method have also admitted that they came through the wrong method.

He said that a conference was held at the Governor House, and there was not a single person who was capable of becoming a councillor with the votes of the people.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that who says that local councils are not working, all local representatives are working within their powers, why did the opposition run away from the local elections if they had the mandate? They knew what was going to happen to them, which is why these people ran away from the local elections.

He said that Karachi is among the best cities in the world. If Karachi was so backward, why does the whole of Pakistan come to Karachi for treatment? Why does the whole of Pakistan come to Karachi for employment?

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that it is said that Karachi handed over to the federation, during the era of General Musharraf, during the same era, Karachi faced the problem of China cutting, today the people sitting in the opposition sank the fleet of Karachi, police officers were martyred selectively, when their leader was shedding rivers of blood, they used to say “Jee Bhai, Jee Bhai”.

He said that the Pakistan People’s Party has always raised the slogan “Pakistan Khape.”
