Minister distributes relief cheques among Gul Plaza fire victims

Provincial Minister for Local Government Sindh Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Provincial Minister for Trade Ikramullah Durrani, along with Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, MNA Asad Niazi, Commissioner Karachi Hasan Naqvi, Deputy Commissioner South, and President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zubair Motiwala, visited the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry where a ceremony was held to distribute relief checks among the victims of the Gul Plaza tragedy On the occasion, the provincial ministers reviewed the process of collecting details of losses of the victims and instructed that the assessment process be completed as soon as possible and a final report be presented to ensure timely rehabilitation of the victims.

Addressing the ceremony, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that he stands with the affected families in this moment of grief and sorrow. This tragic and painful incident has mourned the entire city However, the Sindh government will not leave the victims alone and will fully compensate them for their losses.

He said that the heirs of the deceased are being given financial assistance of one crore rupees each while five lakh rupees per family are being provided for immediate support and expenses The provincial minister announced that temporary commercial and residential spaces are being provided at various locations to restore their livelihoods and that the Sindh government will provide interest-free loans up to one crore rupees through banks, with the government covering the guarantee and interest, so that the business community can stand on its feet again.

Minister for Trade Ikramullah Durrani said that the business community is the backbone of the economy and the government will provide all possible support for the rapid resumption of business activities.

The leadership of Karachi Chamber of Commerce appreciated the compilation of data of the victims and the transparent distribution process and assured full cooperation with the government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party, especially President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman of PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, expressed deep sorrow over the Gul Plaza tragedy and directed immediate and full relief for the victims.

President Zardari said that the state is like a mother and a mother never abandons her children in their grief The complete rehabilitation of Gul Plaza victims is the responsibility of the state and will be fulfilled at all costs While Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that in every difficult moment, PPP has stood with the people and will continue to do so. “We will ensure not only aid but also dignified and permanent rehabilitation of the victims so that they can stand strong on their feet again.”

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah addressed the victims saying that we consider ourselves in your place and share your grief equally. The primary priority of the government is the protection of human lives and the dignified rehabilitation of affected families, and all resources will be deployed for this purpose.
