
ISLAMABAD — Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is highlighting the country’s aerospace innovation and operational capabilities at the ongoing World Defence Show 2026 (WDS-26) in Saudi Arabia, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
The ISPR described WDS-26 as a premier global platform for defence and security, noting that PAF’s participation reinforces Pakistan’s growing stature as a hub for reliable defence solutions and indigenous aerospace development.

At the exhibition, the Air Force is featuring its cutting-edge JF-17 Thunder Block-III multi-role fighter jet and the highly acclaimed Super Mushshak basic trainer aircraft. According to ISPR, the JF-17 Block-III represents the pinnacle of Pakistan’s combat aviation technology, with advanced avionics, an AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar, a modern electronic warfare suite, and beyond-visual-range combat capabilities, making it a formidable 4.5 generation fighter aircraft.

The Super Mushshak trainer, meanwhile, demonstrates Pakistan’s strength in pilot training solutions. Renowned for reliability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance, the aircraft has been successfully inducted by several friendly countries and remains a benchmark for basic flight training worldwide.
PAF’s presence at WDS-26 also reflects Islamabad’s vision of promoting defence exports, strengthening strategic partnerships, and fostering technology transfer and training collaboration with friendly nations. International delegations, defence officials, and military industry leaders are engaging with PAF representatives to explore opportunities for cooperation.

Earlier in January, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed that several countries are in active talks to procure the JF-17 fighter jet, which gained prominence following the India-Pakistan conflict in May 2025. Indonesia, Bangladesh, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia have expressed interest, while Azerbaijan inducted the aircraft into its air force in 2024, becoming the third country after Myanmar and Nigeria to acquire it.
