Azma-Bokhari-copyPunjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has reacted strongly to the Niazi family’s Basant celebrations, stating that the family’s alleged hypocrisy has now been fully exposed. She said that those who previously discouraged the public from celebrating Basant are now themselves flying simple kites and celebrating the festival with their families.
She added that the public had repeatedly been told not to celebrate Basant, yet everything was deemed permissible for a particular family. Azma Bokhari said that on one hand, calls were made to shut down businesses linked to Basant, while on the other hand, the same individuals were seen participating in celebrations, a clear contradiction.
The Punjab Information and Culture Minister further stated that claims had been made about filling the skies with political images on February 8, but there is now a visible gap between those statements and actual actions. She questioned those who previously described such images as old, asking why they are now acknowledging and defending them.
Azma Bokhari concluded by saying that the public is fully aware of the situation and that politics based on double standards cannot last long. She emphasized the need to present the truth before the public and to avoid hypocrisy.
