
Lahore was placed on high alert after a deadly suicide blast rocked Islamabad. Authorities raised security levels across the city on Saturday. The move followed concerns over possible spillover threats. Police said preventive action was necessary to protect public safety.
Lahore Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana ordered special security arrangements citywide. He said Imambargahs, mosques, and other religious places were given extra protection. Police deployment was increased around sensitive and crowded locations. Officers were instructed to remain vigilant at all times.

Meanwhile, security at Lahore’s entry and exit points was further tightened. Police increased snap checks and patrols on major roads. Markets and public gathering spots were placed under strict surveillance. Supervisory officers were directed to stay in the field for continuous monitoring.
The CCPO confirmed that roads and sensitive areas would be monitored through the Safe City Authority cameras. Dedicated police teams were assigned to identified hotspot areas. Citizens were urged to cooperate with law enforcement. Authorities asked people to report suspicious activity by calling 15.

The heightened alert followed a suicide bombing during Friday prayers in Islamabad. The attack targeted a mosque and Imambargah in the capital. At least 32 people were killed, while over 170 were injured. Investigations into the attack are ongoing as security remains tightened.
