Leave Iran Now": US' Urgent Warning To Americans Amid Trump's Attack Threat

WASHINGTON/MUSCAT: The United States (US) government on Friday issued an urgent travel advisory for its citizens in Iran, citing heightened security risks, road closures, public transport disruptions, and ongoing internet outages across the country.

The advisory, issued by the US Virtual Embassy in Iran, urged Americans to plan an exit strategy independent of government assistance. Citizens unable to leave were advised to remain in secure locations, maintain supplies of food, water, and medications, and monitor local media for updates.

The warning comes as high-stakes talks between the US and Iran are underway in Oman, amid rising regional tensions. The US has deployed a significant military presence to the Middle East, which President Donald Trump has described as a massive “armada,” while diplomatic efforts continue to prevent potential escalation.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that diplomacy remains Trump’s preferred approach, stating that military options remain available if necessary. The US has insisted that negotiations cover Iran’s missile program in addition to its disputed nuclear program, while Tehran has sought to focus talks exclusively on nuclear issues.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed that Iran is ready to defend itself against any excessive demands or adventurism by the US, while also pursuing diplomacy to safeguard national interests. “Iran maintains full readiness to defend the country’s sovereignty and national security,” he said in Muscat during discussions with Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi.

The advisory reflects escalating concern for American citizens in the country as the region braces for possible military or diplomatic developments. Authorities warned that individuals in Iran should exercise extreme caution and prepare for potential disruptions in movement and communication.
