
A US Navy destroyer has docked at Israel’s southern port of Eilat, signaling ongoing military cooperation between Washington and Tel Aviv as tensions with Iran continue to escalate in the region.
The arrival at the Gulf of Aqaba port, near Israel’s borders with Egypt and Jordan, was pre-planned and forms part of regular strategic coordination between the two allied militaries, officials said.

This deployment comes as U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iran to resume nuclear negotiations or face intensified consequences, while simultaneously indicating willingness to engage in diplomatic talks to reduce regional conflict.
Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth stated the U.S. military is ready to execute any decision made by the president, emphasizing that the safety of service members remains a top priority during the deployment.

A U.S. defence official noted that operational details could not be shared for security reasons, but confirmed the destroyer’s presence reflects America’s commitment to supporting allies and deterring potential threats from Tehran.
Meanwhile, Trump claimed an “armada” is heading toward Iran as a show of strength, though he expressed hope that military action would ultimately be avoided, keeping diplomacy as the preferred solution.
