
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for rain and snowfall in KP, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. The warning covers the next 12 hours, with snow expected in hilly and mountainous areas. Authorities have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Kurram, Waziristan, Mansehra, Mohmand, Buner, Haripur, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Kohat. In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain is forecast for Gilgit, Astore, Ghizer, Diamer, Skardu, Hunza, and Shigar, with snowfall in higher regions.

Azad Kashmir districts including Bagh, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Haveli, Kotli, Bhimber, and Neelum may also experience rain, while snowfall is likely in upper reaches. NDMA warned of slippery roads, potential traffic disruption, and urged citizens to take precautions.
Relevant departments have been directed to remain alert for rescue operations and road restoration. The National Emergencies Operation Centre will provide advance information to the public and authorities to manage potential risks effectively.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army carried out relief operations in Orakzai and Kurram districts. Roads blocked by heavy snowfall were cleared, and stranded vehicles were safely evacuated. An eight-kilometer road in Kurram was restored using heavy machinery, ensuring safe movement for residents.
