
More than 1,500 people were rescued after heavy snowfall trapped families in KP’s Tirah Valley. Rescue operations continued on Saturday amid harsh weather. Authorities said evacuations began after a sudden snowstorm hit the area.
Rescue 1122 said many displaced families were stranded while leaving Tirah ahead of a planned operation. The incident occurred in Khyber district on Friday. Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to affected locations.

According to Rescue 1122, over 1,500 people and 350 vehicles were moved to safety. More than 100 individuals also received medical assistance during the operation. Officials said rescue work remained active across the valley.
Over 100 Rescue 1122 personnel from several districts joined the operation. Teams worked for more than 36 hours despite sub-zero temperatures. Officials said difficult terrain did not halt rescue efforts.

Meanwhile, authorities advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel due to changing weather. Limited traffic was allowed on the Murree Expressway. Motorway Police warned of more rain and snowfall early next week.
