
The Government of Pakistan has released the official public and optional holiday schedule for 2026. Key dates include Kashmir Day, Pakistan Day, and Independence Day. The notification also lists major religious festivals for Muslims and minority communities.
Eidul Fitr will be observed on March 21, 22, and 23, while Eidul Azha is set for May 27–29. Ashura falls on June 24 and 25, and Eid Miladun Nabi on August 25. The dates are subject to moon sightings.

Banks will observe holidays on January 1, February 18, and July 1. However, employees will continue to work while banks remain closed for public transactions.
Government employees have limited optional holidays. Muslim staff may take one optional day, and non-Muslims up to three. Heads of organisations may approve holidays to maintain essential work.

Exporters and manufacturers are exempt from these holidays. They must ensure staff receive overtime pay along with regular wages. The announcement aims to balance religious observance with economic continuity.
