The White House announced members of a “Board of Peace” to supervise Gaza’s temporary governance. The board includes Marco Rubio, Jared Kushner, Tony Blair, and Trump himself as chair. The plan was unveiled in October after Israel and Hamas approved a transitional Palestinian technocratic body.
The board will oversee Gaza during a fragile ceasefire that began in October. No Palestinians were named to the founding executive board. The White House said responsibilities of each member were not detailed, and additional members will be announced soon.

Other members include billionaire Marc Rowan, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and Trump adviser Robert Gabriel. Nickolay Mladenov will serve as high representative for Gaza. Major General Jasper Jeffers will command the International Stabilization Force authorized by the U.N. Security Council.
An 11-member Gaza Executive Board was also named to support Mladenov and the Palestinian body. It includes Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, U.N. coordinator Sigrid Kaag, UAE minister Reem Al-Hashimy, and Israeli-Cypriot billionaire Yakir Gabay. The board will oversee Gaza’s governance and aid the technocratic body.

Rights groups criticized the plan as resembling colonial oversight. Tony Blair’s involvement drew scrutiny due to his Iraq War role. Gaza has suffered heavy casualties and displacement since October 2023, with experts warning of a humanitarian crisis and potential crimes against humanity.
