
Pakistan will establish a Special Protection Unit to protect Chinese nationals in Islamabad. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the decision during meetings in Beijing. He said ensuring Chinese citizens’ safety and project security remains a top national priority.
Naqvi met Chinese Public Security Minister Wang Xiaohong at the ministry headquarters. The meeting lasted over three hours and focused on counter-terrorism cooperation. Both sides discussed police training exchanges and broader Pakistan-China security coordination.

Moreover, the two ministers agreed to strengthen joint rapid response systems. They decided to hold joint working group meetings every three months. An annual interior ministers’ meeting will also review progress and future security plans.

Meanwhile, the Chinese minister expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s security measures. He praised Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Naqvi highlighted the use of Chinese AI technology to tackle security and cybercrime challenges.

In addition, both sides reaffirmed zero tolerance for terrorism in all forms. They pledged to secure Belt and Road projects and boost regional stability. The meeting followed a recent strategic dialogue reviewing defence, trade, and investment ties.
