Continuous surveillance and exceptional vigilance by the institutions exposed the terrorist plot. The recovered explosive material was safely neutralised outside the city in the Hub area. The recovery of more than 2,000 kilograms of explosives saved countless precious lives.

The terrorists had planned to target civilian locations in Karachi. They had rented a house 35 to 40 kilometres outside Karachi. Intelligence agencies conducted monitoring through human and technical sources, keeping the operation completely confidential. Extraordinary precautions were taken to prevent panic among the public.

During the operation, booby traps and potential threats were assessed with extreme care. More than 30 plastic drums containing explosives and five metal gas cylinders were recovered during the action. Preliminary investigations suggest that the explosive material was brought from Afghanistan into Balochistan and then to Karachi.

Evidence indicates that the network was being operated from neighbouring countries. Terrorist groups working in line with Indian interests were behind this plot. Indian proxies BLA and BLF use safe havens in Afghanistan. Evidence links the terrorist network to Bashir Zeb, the BLA, Fitna‑e‑Hindustan, and the Majeed Brigade.

Urea‑based explosive material is commonly used for terrorist activities. Breaking the supply chain of explosives remains a top priority for security agencies. Local facilitators assist terrorists in exchange for minor financial gains. Terrorists use residential houses to hide and to prepare explosive materials. Strict monitoring and effective vetting of the house‑rental system is essential.

Strong enforcement of laws against the illegal use of urea and other chemicals is imperative. Law‑enforcement agencies and intelligence services remain fully committed to the complete eradication of terrorism. All those responsible for the terrorist plot are being pursued, and further details will be shared soon.
