England have named a 12-man squad for the final Test, with seamer Matthew Potts included and likely to feature after Gus Atkinson suffered a hamstring injury in Melbourne. Spinner Shoaib Bashir and all-rounder Will Jacks are competing for the final spot in the playing XI.
Australia captain Steve Smith said the hosts would make a final decision on their team after assessing the pitch conditions at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Stokes echoed the uncertainty around pitch reading, admitting teams often make educated guesses when selecting their final line-ups.
