Netflix unveils packed January 2026 lineup

Netflix is kicking off 2026 with an extensive slate of new releases, bringing a mix of returning fan favourites, fresh original series, and blockbuster films to subscribers throughout January. The streaming giant’s lineup spans multiple genres, catering to viewers with diverse tastes.

The month begins on January 1 with Run Away, the latest adaptation of a Harlan Coben novel. The eight-episode mystery drama stars James Nesbitt as a father searching for his missing daughter and is adapted by Danny Brocklehurst, with Minnie Driver, Ruth Jones, Alfred Enoch and Lucian Msamati also featuring.

Romantic comedy fans will have something to look forward to on January 9 with People We Meet on Vacation. Based on Emily Henry’s bestselling novel, the film follows two longtime friends, played by Emily Bader and Tom Blyth, who reconnect during a trip abroad.

January’s biggest movie release arrives on January 16 with The Rip, an action thriller starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The story centres on Miami police officers whose partnership begins to unravel after they discover a massive stash of cash under suspicious circumstances.

Netflix will also add a wide range of popular films to its library, including Dune, 12 Years a Slave, District 9, Erin Brockovich and the documentary Free Solo. Several complete TV series, such as Rizzoli & Isles, Southland and Veronica Mars, will also become available.

Animation and family content feature prominently this month, with Pokémon Horizons: Season 3 – Rising Hope Part 1 launching on January 6. Reality and live-event fans can expect regular weekly additions of Monday Night Raw: 2026.

The month concludes with one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases, Bridgerton: Season 4 Part 1, debuting on January 29. The new season focuses on Benedict Bridgerton and will be split into two parts, continuing the platform’s strategy for major franchise releases.

Overall, Netflix’s January 2026 lineup reflects a strong start to the year, combining high-profile originals with a broad selection of acclaimed films and series.
