
Pakistan is preparing to present its National Vaccine Policy to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, aiming to strengthen health security and achieve industrial self-reliance through local vaccine production.
A meeting co-chaired by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan and Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal finalized the policy, focusing on reducing dependence on imported vaccines and encouraging domestic manufacturing.

Haroon Akhtar said the policy aligns with the prime minister’s vision of making Pakistan self-reliant in vaccine production, emphasizing that local manufacturing will build sustainable capacity in both health and industrial sectors.
The policy promises to guarantee local vaccine production, minimize reliance on imports, and mark a significant milestone for Pakistan’s public health system and pharmaceutical industry, benefiting the country in the long term.
