G7 leaders agreed to increase pressure on Russia to end its war against Ukraine during talks in France. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky joined leaders at the summit in Evian-les-Bains, where Ukraine remained a central focus. A French diplomatic source said G7 members agreed to intensify sanctions targeting Russian oil and gas revenues. The leaders also concluded that current battlefield developments favor Ukraine. US President Donald Trump met Zelensky and called on Russia to reach an agreement. Trump described the conflict as costly and unnecessary, pledging to do what he could to help end the war.
