During the meeting, officials agreed that technical teams from Pakistan and Bangladesh would review the existing Double Taxation Treaty to align it with evolving international tax standards. Additionally, discussions focused on improving frameworks for transparency, compliance, and mutual support in cross-border taxation matters.

A high-level delegation from Bangladesh’s National Board of Revenue is on a five-day visit to Pakistan until December 26 to negotiate amendments to the Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation. Consequently, the visit aims to strengthen fiscal cooperation and prevent tax evasion while boosting bilateral economic growth.
