In a statement, Memon emphasised that the Sindh government was working tirelessly to address Karachi’s long-standing infrastructure and service delivery challenges. Development, he said, had been placed at the top of the government’s agenda to improve the quality of life for residents.
Major investments have been directed towards road and transport infrastructure, with Rs194 billion allocated to improving traffic flow and connectivity. Key projects underway include the Shahrah-e-Bhutto Corridor, Malir River Bridge, and a network of new underpasses and flyovers aimed at reducing congestion.

The minister added that several flagship projects were scheduled to begin by March, with authorities instructed to ensure transparency, quality control, and timely completion. Monitoring mechanisms, he said, were being strengthened to prevent delays and cost overruns.
Healthcare has also been identified as a priority area, with Rs300 billion earmarked for the expansion and upgradation of nine District Headquarters (DHQ) hospitals in Karachi. The initiative aims to improve access to quality medical services for low- and middle-income communities.
Public transport reforms are another key focus, with Rs155.34 billion allocated for the Red, Yellow, and Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects. These mass transit systems are expected to modernise urban mobility and reduce reliance on private vehicles.
