Five Palestinians, including children, were killed in an Israeli attack on a school sheltering displaced families in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood of east Gaza City, according to Al Shifa Hospital chief Mohamed Abu Selmia.
The Palestinian civil emergency service confirmed that most of the victims were children and added that several wounded individuals were transferred to hospitals for urgent medical treatment.

Bodies were only recovered after coordination between the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Israeli authorities, highlighting the complexities of humanitarian operations in the area.
The Israel Defense Forces stated that their troops had fired at individuals identified in command structures outside the designated ceasefire line, and noted that casualty details were still under review.

Hamas condemned the attack, calling it a “brutal crime” and another violation of the ceasefire agreement, intensifying tensions in Gaza where civilians continue to face threats from ongoing hostilities.
Since the ceasefire began in October, at least 400 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, while Israel reports three soldiers killed by Palestinian militants over the same period.
