PM Shehbaz Sharif undertakes 28 foreign trips

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made 28 foreign trips in 2025, reflecting an active diplomatic calendar focused on strengthening Pakistan’s international relations and advancing economic, strategic, and regional interests. His travels highlight outreach on multiple global platforms.

Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan were the most visited countries, with four trips each by the prime minister. These visits underscored Pakistan’s close diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties with both nations, emphasizing cooperation in trade, investment, and regional affairs.

The United Kingdom saw three visits, including two private trips and one official tour aimed at engaging the Pakistani diaspora and enhancing bilateral relations. The official visit focused on boosting economic and cultural collaboration between the two countries.

In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, and the United States twice each. Discussions during these visits revolved around regional cooperation, economic partnerships, and high-level diplomatic engagement to promote Pakistan’s global presence.

China, Pakistan’s longstanding strategic partner, was visited once during the year. The visit aimed to reaffirm bilateral commitments and strengthen collaboration in economic, technological, and strategic sectors, highlighting the enduring partnership between the two countries.

Diplomatic sources noted that the prime minister’s foreign trips reflect a proactive approach by the government to strengthen international ties, promote Pakistan’s strategic interests, and enhance cooperation in trade, security, and regional stability.
