London — The UK High Court has ruled against Adil Raja in a high-profile libel case, ordering him to pay £50,000 in damages to Rashid Naseer, along with an interim costs payment of £260,000 and full legal expenses.
According to the judgment, Raja made defamatory allegations against Mr Naseer in June 2022, with the Court finding that he had no lawful defence for his claims.
The Court further directed Raja to publish a formal, Court-approved apology across all his media and social platforms for 28 days, pinned at the top for clear visibility.
A strict injunction has also been issued, barring Raja from repeating or implying a long list of allegations regarding Mr Naseer—including claims related to the 2022 Punjab elections, alleged meetings, vote rigging, misuse of authority, corruption, and threats.

The Court warned that any breach of these orders may result in contempt of court proceedings, which could lead to fines or imprisonment.
The judgment states that Raja must complete payment of damages and interim costs by 22 December 2025.
Legal analysts say the ruling sets a significant precedent against online defamation and misinformation, particularly in cases involving high-profile public commentary.
