FIA, Interpol bring back proclaimed offender

Published on: December 11, 2025 2:46 AM

In a major breakthrough against transnational fugitives, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in coordination with Interpol has successfully arrested and repatriated proclaimed offender Taimoor Hasan from Saudi Arabia.

According to an official statement shared by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on his social media account X, the suspect had been wanted by Punjab Police for the past four years. Acting on a Red Notice issued by FIA, Interpol authorities detained Hasan in Saudi Arabia and handed him over to Pakistani officials.

FIA Immigration Islamabad formally transferred custody of the accused to Punjab Police upon his arrival in Pakistan. The Interior Minister praised the efforts of FIA’s National Central Bureau (NCB), calling the operation another significant success in the ongoing crackdown on absconders.”Well done, Team FIA,” Naqvi said in his statement.

Five held over copyright violations: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Corporate Crime Circle Lahore carried out targeted raids in various parts of the city and arrested five suspects allegedly involved in violations of the Copyright Act.

According to an FIA spokesperson on Wednesday, the arrested suspects have been identified as Muhammad Nadeem, Usman Ali, Kashif Shahbaz, Zain-ul-Abideen and Nadeem Baig. The suspects were apprehended during separate raid operations across different areas of Lahore. The spokesperson said the accused were found involved in manufacturing, stocking and selling counterfeit products of several well-known registered companies. A large quantity of fake products belonging to multiple registered brands was also recovered from their possession.
