Gohar warns ‘minus-one’ tactic could unleash chaos

Published on: December 10, 2025 3:38 PM

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar warned that any attempt to “minus” one political leader will destabilise the entire system. He said such moves will create chaos that no one can control. He also condemned the use of water cannons on Imran Khan’s family.

He told reporters outside Parliament House that targeting one person will not leave others safe. He criticised authorities for blocking meetings with Imran Khan. He argued that visitors posed no threat and should not have been dispersed. He said the treatment of Khan’s sisters was unacceptable.

He also rejected the claim that a tweet from the PTI founder justified stopping meetings. He asked why Bushra Bibi’s family was also denied access. He said the government was hiding behind weak excuses. He insisted that PTI leaders only want legal and peaceful interaction.

Gohar warned that the situation may soon move beyond control if such restrictions continue. He said PTI is part of the system and represents 30 million people. He urged the government to avoid actions that damage democratic norms. He stressed that political rights must be respected.

He added that a resolution was passed in a provincial assembly that shows rising tensions. He said the government is pushing federating units against each other. He asked what ban the government plans on PTI. He warned that instability could deepen within a month if the government maintains this path.
