Mainstreaming of Wadera Noor Ali Chakrani,100+ Former Militants in Dera Bugti

Published on: December 8, 2025 8:21 PM

A major breakthrough took place in Dera Bugti on 5 December 2025 when senior BRA commander Wadera Noor Ali Chakrani surrendered with more than 100 militants. They laid down their weapons and pledged loyalty to Pakistan in the presence of Mir Aftab Bugti at Pakistan House, Sui. The event marked a decisive shift toward stability in one of Balochistan’s most sensitive regions.

The Chakrani tribe holds significant influence in Dera Bugti, and their mainstreaming is a major setback for the BRA’s operations. It reduces the group’s ability to recruit, extort, or launch violent activities. It also strengthens security in Sui, a region that fuels Pakistan’s energy network. The development reflects growing public support for peace and progress.

Moreover, the surrender rejects the violence-based “resistance” narrative promoted by anti-state and foreign-backed groups. Local communities increasingly trust the State over extremist elements who misled vulnerable youth. Their decision sends a message to hostile forces that Balochistan refuses to be exploited as a battleground for external agendas. The perception environment has shifted firmly in favour of peace.

This development follows earlier reconciliation successes, including the returns of Sarfraz Bangulzai and Gulzar Imam Shambay. Their disclosures exposed how foreign handlers manipulated Baloch youth to fuel instability. Pakistan’s policy of dialogue and reintegration has proved effective, giving misled individuals a dignified path back into national life. The State continues to differentiate between misguided citizens and hardened, foreign-sponsored militants.

Looking ahead, the government can now introduce reintegration programs focusing on jobs, education, healthcare, and youth development for the returning tribe. Such measures will ensure long-term stability and strengthen the reconciliation process. Officials urged remaining militants to lay down arms and choose peace. They noted that Dera Bugti’s future belongs to those who embrace unity, development, and national progress.
