
The Punjab government will provide Rs4 billion in subsidies for the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Rashan Card Programme. The scheme aims to support low-income families with daily essential commodities. Over 6,000 Rashan Cards have already been issued to deserving citizens.
The Punjab Social Welfare Department collected data of 9,498 citizens for the program. Applications of 3,339 individuals will undergo additional scrutiny to ensure eligibility. Authorities emphasized that only deserving families will receive the Rashan Cards.

Families with the card can purchase essential items at subsidized rates. The program is designed to offer immediate relief to households facing economic hardship. Registration and verification processes are currently underway across the province.
The Rashan Card initiative continues previous government efforts to provide food support to the needy. Officials said the program will help reduce financial stress for vulnerable families in Punjab. The scheme also aims to improve transparency and efficiency in aid distribution.
