PTI Crisis Deepens as Parties Back Army

PTI crisis escalated on Sunday as major political leaders backed the army and accused PTI of attacking state institutions. They warned that Imran Khan’s rhetoric was weakening national unity and harming national security. However, PTI stayed defiant and held a large rally in Peshawar to show public support.

PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal criticised Imran Khan for promoting a “dangerous trend” that targeted the armed forces. MQM-P leaders also urged PTI to choose the state over its leader, saying Pakistan could not afford further instability. They argued that the PTI crisis was damaging the country’s image and helping hostile narratives.

PPP leader Sarfraz Bugti accused Imran Khan of spreading propaganda aligned with hostile agencies. He said the nation must stand with security forces during a time of insurgency in two provinces. Other ministers also claimed that PTI had harmed Pakistan through foreign funding and divisive politics, further widening the PTI crisis.

Meanwhile, PTI demanded an apology from the military spokesperson for his remarks about Imran Khan. Party leaders said attempts to discredit Imran would only boost his popularity. A massive rally in Peshawar condemned the ISPR briefing and called for respect for constitutional limits. Rally speakers insisted that the PTI crisis was being exaggerated to weaken the party.

PTI also warned against any move to impose governor’s rule in KP and announced another rally in Kohat. Leaders said Imran Khan remained the “genuine prime minister” in the eyes of the people. The party vowed to continue resisting actions they believe undermine democracy, insisting they will stand firm despite the ongoing PTI crisis.
