Holly Willoughby fined after scooter accident; broadcaster comments spark debate

Published on: December 3, 2025 6:13 PM

Who Is Narinder Kaur And What's Her Link To Laurence Fox
Former This Morning host Holly Willoughby, 44, was fined £2,444 and given six penalty points after a scooter rider sustained serious injuries in a collision involving her Mini Cooper on August 28, 2025. The man suffered a broken neck and a broken toe during the incident, Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court heard on Tuesday. Willoughby pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention.

TV broadcaster Narinder Kaur weighed in on Willoughby’s punishment, highlighting that the star avoided prison time. “No prison time. A fine instead,” Kaur wrote, prompting discussion in the comments section. When one user suggested it was a minor accident, Kaur responded, “Jealousy that she broke someone’s neck? I just said she got a fine and no prison time—I have simply repeated the article.”

Willoughby did not attend the court hearing on Tuesday morning. Prosecutors from the Metropolitan Police had argued for the incident to be treated as Category 1A, the most serious offence. Following the defence’s arguments, magistrates ruled it a Category 1B serious offence.

The court heard that Holly exited her vehicle immediately after the crash to assist the injured rider and remained at the scene until police arrived. She admitted responsibility to officers at the scene.

The incident has sparked public debate over the severity of Willoughby’s punishment and road safety accountability for celebrities. While some defended her actions as an accident, others criticized the consequences as too lenient given the injuries caused.
