ATC orders seizure of properties of 15 PTI leaders

The Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi on Tuesday issued orders the immediate attachment of all immovable properties belonging to 15 senior PTI leaders and workers who have been declared proclaimed offenders in the May 09 GHQ attack case.

According to the details, under Section 88 CrPC, the court directed Deputy Commissioners and revenue officers of the respective districts to seize the immovable assets of Shibli Faraz, Kanwal Shauzab, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, Zartaj Gul, Omar Ayub Khan, Ahmed Chatttha, Javed Iqbal, Bilal Jahanzeb, Rai Hassan Nawaz, Rai Murtaza Khan, Ashraf Khan, Sona Chaudhry, Muhammad Asif, Shakeel Ahmad Niazi, Azeemullah Khan, Muhammad Ansar Iqbal, as well as three local accused Haider Mehmood Shah, Shahir Sikandar and Hamza Latif.

The court stopped any sale, transfer or transaction involving these properties.

After today’s court orders, if the accused are failed to surrender within the stipulated time, the attached assets will be auctioned and proceeds deposited into the national treasury.

Additionally, under Section 514 CrPC, notices have been issued to the sureties of all 18 proclaimed offenders, asking why their bail bonds should not be forfeited and recovered.

All accused were declared proclaimed offenders on November 19, in connection with the violent attack on GHQ Gate, on May 09, 2023, FIR No. 708/2023 was registered in RA Bazar Police Station.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled for December 03, Wednesday.
