PM discusses overall national, political situation with ministers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday met Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Prof Ahsan Iqbal and discussed matters pertaining to planning ministry, and overall national and political situation. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan were also present in the meeting.

Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here and briefed him on matters related to his ministry.

During the briefing, the prime minister expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the ministry to resolve the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis.

In the meeting, they also discussed other matters of mutual interest.

Moreover, Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the newly elected members of the National Assembly (MNAs) on their success in the by-elections during their maiden call on at Prime Minister’s House.

The newly elected members of the National Assembly included Babar Nawaz, Bilal Farooq Tarar, Bilal Badar, Raja Daniyal, Hafiz Noman, Chaudhry Tufail Jatt and Mahmood Qadir, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.

PM Shehbaz extended best wishes to the newly elected members of the National Assembly. “The success in the by-elections was achieved due to the vision of Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, his unparalleled leadership and the hard work of party workers,” he said.

The prime minister underlined that the success in the by-elections reflected the people’s trust in the hard work of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the prosperity and development of the people of the province.

“I hope you will work wholeheartedly for the welfare and well-being of the people of your constituency. I also hope that you will fully participate in the National Assembly and play your important role in the legislation regarding the development and prosperity of Pakistan and public welfare,” the prime minister said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Owais Khan Leghari were also present in the meeting.
