
Media students at the University of Gujrat took their oath as new Video Club office-bearers on Monday. The ceremony was held at Hafiz Hayat Campus. Dr. Muhammad Yousaf, Chairperson of CMCS, administered the oath. The event marked the revival of the Video Club, giving students a platform to gain practical media skills and creativity.
Dr. Yousaf spoke about media’s growth over time. He said news has changed with each era. Electronic media now opens new opportunities for learning and innovation. He added that student societies help members explore different fields. Becoming a responsible media professional requires study, practice, and personal training, he emphasized.

The elected team includes President Atika Mughal, Vice President Ali Hassan, General Secretary Wardah, Media Head Muhammad Yaseen, Graphic Designer Noor Amin, and Creative Heads Komal and Umar. Research Head Zainab Zahra and members Naqeeb, Alishba, Taha, and Moeed also took the oath. Dr. Yousaf encouraged them to use their roles to gain hands-on experience and make meaningful contributions.
Dr. Faiza Bajwa praised radio, television, and social media as key communication tools. She highlighted media’s role in women’s empowerment. She welcomed the Video Club revival and said thoughtful video projects inspire positive change and leave a lasting impact on society.

Coordinator Sobia Farooq explained the revival will teach students short video filmmaking and creative expression. Dr. Yousaf added that industry connections can help students secure real-world projects. Media students now have a strong platform to innovate, learn, and make a real difference in the field.
