
Russia’s Samara region faced a Ukrainian drone attack on Saturday, killing two people in Syzran. The assault targeted local energy facilities. Two others were injured and are receiving medical treatment.
The attack was reportedly repelled by Russian air defence forces. Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed the casualties and damage via Russia’s state-backed Max messenger app. Authorities are investigating the incident.

The victims included workers at the energy facilities. Emergency teams responded quickly to stabilize the injured. Power supplies in the area were temporarily disrupted.
Ukraine has increasingly used drones in cross-border operations amid the ongoing conflict. Analysts say such strikes aim to pressure Russian infrastructure and create logistical challenges. Moscow condemned the attack as a violation of its sovereignty.
