
BANNU: At least seven people were killed and one injured after a group of terrorists attacked the Howaid Peace Committee office in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), officials said. Police confirmed that the attack targeted the Peace Committee office, intensifying security concerns in the area.

Authorities have deployed a heavy police presence to maintain order, and the deceased and injured have been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. Investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators and their motives.
The incident follows a series of intelligence-driven operations against Khawarij militants in KP. Earlier, Sajjad alias Abu Zar, a key ringleader, and 22 other militants were killed in operations in Bajaur and Bannu districts. Security forces successfully neutralized the threats, targeting locations linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Khwarij.

In the Bajaur operation on 16-17 November 2025, eleven militants, including Abu Zar, were killed, while twelve more were neutralized during the Bannu operation. Authorities continue to monitor the region for remaining militant elements and strengthen counterterrorism measures.
