KARACHI – Traffic authorities in Karachi have seized a dumper truck that had been operating without registration, a license, or any legal documentation for the past three years. The vehicle was stopped in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 9 after traffic police noticed its reckless movement on city roads.

The driver, who was taken into custody, admitted during questioning that he had been operating the dumper without fulfilling any legal requirements. The vehicle lacked number plates, a tracking system, and the driver did not possess a national identity card or valid driving license. A case has been registered at the ASO Traffic Section Gulistan-e-Jauhar against the driver.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing to trace the owner of the dumper, who could face a heavy fine once identified. DIG Traffic Police Pir Muhammad Shah recently announced a ban on plying dumpers and water tankers across Karachi unless they provide real-time tracking access to traffic police. Several vehicles have already been equipped with trackers, but compliance has been inconsistent, officials added.
