
RAWALPINDI: Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first in the first ODI of the three-match series against Pakistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
The three-match series marks Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan, with the remaining two ODIs scheduled at the same venue on November 13 and 15.
Historically, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have faced each other 157 times in ODIs, with Pakistan leading the record with 93 wins compared to Sri Lanka’s 59. One match ended in a tie, and four were no result.
The series trophy was unveiled on Monday by Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi and Sri Lankan counterpart Charith Asalanka.

Following the ODI series, a tri-nation tournament involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe is set to begin in November. The two teams last met in an ODI bilateral series in 2019, which Pakistan won 2-0.
