Noah Cyrus opened up about how therapy helped her navigate some of the toughest periods of her life, describing herself as “so lucky” to have access to mental health resources. The 25-year-old singer, who has been candid about her struggles with depression and anxiety, shared her experience in an interview with Billboard.
Cyrus revealed that she sought therapy during a particularly difficult time when she was grieving a loved one and battling addiction. “Whenever I was 20, turning 21, I was really deep in addiction to downers,” she admitted. “I had recently lost my grandmother at the time… I had really just gotten myself in such a dark place, and I felt so alone that help to me, looked like first reaching out to my therapist.”

The singer emphasized that therapy allowed her to confront multiple layers of struggle beyond addiction, helping her reconnect with her family and regain a sense of stability. “I had a lot to tackle and a lot to uncover, and one that started with the addiction, but there were so many layers underneath the addiction,” she said.
Noah also reflected on her latest album, I Want My Loved Ones to Go with Me, noting that it represents a journey toward hope and healing. “Though it’s like a heavier album, it has felt a lot more hopeful in the room and a lot more lighter… It’s more about transitioning and moving forward and it being a really comforting release,” she said.
