
DOHA – President Asif Ali Zardari held a bilateral meeting with Vice President of China Han Zheng on Wednesday, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to strengthening their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership founded on mutual trust, respect, and a shared vision for regional peace and prosperity.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, where both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination on matters of mutual interest at regional and international platforms.

President Zardari recalled his recent visit to China and described Pakistan and China as “iron brothers” and all-weather partners. He expressed gratitude for Beijing’s steadfast support to Pakistan in times of challenge, emphasizing that friendship with China remains the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
The president also lauded China’s continued cooperation in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), noting that the project had entered its second phase of high-quality development, bringing new opportunities in connectivity, industrial growth, and energy cooperation.
Vice President Han Zheng conveyed warm greetings from President Xi Jinping and reaffirmed the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China friendship. He praised Pakistan’s role in combating terrorism and promoting regional peace and stability.

Han Zheng reiterated China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic development through the second phase of CPEC, with a focus on transport infrastructure, information technology, agriculture, and vocational training.
The meeting was also attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar, reflecting the significance of the engagement in strengthening bilateral relations.
