The PPP chairman highlighted the party’s long-standing commitment to Kashmir. He stated that the party has fought for Kashmir for three generations and represented the people’s rights on every platform. Despite challenges during past elections, including interference by state institutions, PPP secured victories that reflected public support.
On October 25, PPP officially announced its plan to form the Azad Kashmir government after a meeting chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari. The decision followed the defection of 10 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members to PPP, giving the party the numbers needed to govern.
