ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), through its flagship organisation Ignite – National Technology Fund, on Friday unveiled two major initiatives: the Prime Minister’s Cloud Enablement Program for Startups and the Pakistan Startup Fund (PSF). The move aims to strengthen Pakistan’s national innovation ecosystem and accelerate the growth of a knowledge-based digital economy.
Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted that these programs are aligned with the government’s Digital Nation Vision, emphasizing their role in empowering entrepreneurs and positioning Pakistan as a competitive player in the global technology landscape. Ignite CEO Rafique Ahmed Burriro added that these initiatives, along with the BridgeStart Pakistan program, provide startups with essential tools for success: infrastructure, funding, and international exposure.

The Cloud Enablement Program offers startups access to world-class cloud infrastructure from global providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Huawei Cloud, through reimbursement-based cloud credits. This allows startups to scale efficiently, innovate faster, and adopt emerging technologies in sectors like AI, FinTech, HealthTech, and eCommerce.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Startup Fund bridges early-stage funding gaps by providing equity-free grants of up to 30% of an investment round, encouraging venture capital inflows and reducing risks for private investors. BridgeStart Pakistan complements these efforts by connecting startups to global accelerators and investors, providing exposure to international markets.
