Pakistan launches cloud and startup fund initiatives

Published on: October 31, 2025 4:11 PM

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), through its flagship organisation Ignite – National Technology Fund, on Friday unveiled two major initiatives: the Prime Minister’s Cloud Enablement Program for Startups and the Pakistan Startup Fund (PSF). The move aims to strengthen Pakistan’s national innovation ecosystem and accelerate the growth of a knowledge-based digital economy.

Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted that these programs are aligned with the government’s Digital Nation Vision, emphasizing their role in empowering entrepreneurs and positioning Pakistan as a competitive player in the global technology landscape. Ignite CEO Rafique Ahmed Burriro added that these initiatives, along with the BridgeStart Pakistan program, provide startups with essential tools for success: infrastructure, funding, and international exposure.

The Cloud Enablement Program offers startups access to world-class cloud infrastructure from global providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Huawei Cloud, through reimbursement-based cloud credits. This allows startups to scale efficiently, innovate faster, and adopt emerging technologies in sectors like AI, FinTech, HealthTech, and eCommerce.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Startup Fund bridges early-stage funding gaps by providing equity-free grants of up to 30% of an investment round, encouraging venture capital inflows and reducing risks for private investors. BridgeStart Pakistan complements these efforts by connecting startups to global accelerators and investors, providing exposure to international markets.

During the launch ceremony, graduating startups under BridgeStart Pakistan—including Motovest, Paymo, Chaajao Tech, InLights Solutions, Sahl, Thingsty, Kashmeta, Edversity, Creative 3D, and Wiser Machines—received cheques and certificates for their achievements in global acceleration and incubation programs. Together, these initiatives represent a national framework to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation in Pakistan.
