Pakistan and Canada have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic ties and maintaining close bilateral communication. The announcement came after a phone call between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, according to the Foreign Office.
During the call, both leaders discussed ways to expand trade and investment in key sectors, including agriculture, mines, and minerals. They also highlighted opportunities under the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPPA), aiming to encourage secure, long-term investments and foster a stable business environment.

Dar expressed appreciation to Canada for facilitating market access for Canadian canola exports to Pakistan. Both sides agreed to explore additional measures to increase bilateral trade, enhance investment flows, and support economic growth in both countries.
