Islamabad: The inquiry into Islamabad Police SP Adeel Akbar’s death has concluded. A four-member committee found no evidence of suicide. Authorities confirmed that the report will be submitted to Islamabad IGP Ali Nasir Rizvi today. Later, it will be forwarded to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi along with recommendations for further action.
The committee reviewed all aspects of SP Adeel’s death, including forensic and medical evidence. Officials said the officer died from a gunshot wound to the face. The post-mortem report confirmed the cause of death. No proof suggested that he had taken his own life, contrary to earlier speculation.

Investigators recorded statements from SP Adeel’s staff, including his wireless operator and driver. The psychologist treating him was also questioned. SP Adeel Akbar served as SP Industrial Area Islamabad. He was found dead on October 23 while on duty. The case initially sparked widespread speculation that he had committed suicide. Authorities immediately formed the inquiry committee to determine the facts and ensure transparency.
