
LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced the men’s domestic cricket contracts for the 2025-26 season, expanding the categories from three to four and increasing the number of contracted players from 131 to 157.
The new contracts, effective from August 2025 to July 2026, have been awarded to the top performers from all domestic tournaments held during the 2024-25 season. Players were selected after a detailed evaluation process based on their performances across first-class, List A, and T20 competitions.

The four contract categories include 30 players in DC1, 55 in DC2, 51 in DC3, and 21 in DC4. The 2025-26 domestic cricket calendar began with the 12-team Hanif Mohammad Trophy on August 29 and includes two first-class events, three non-first-class red-ball tournaments, a List A competition, and a two-phase National T20 Cup, along with the 11th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Among the Category 1 (DC1) players are national-level performers such as Imam-ul-Haq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abid Ali, Mohammad Hasnain, Mir Hamza, and Zahid Mehmood, representing regions including Lahore, Karachi, Multan, and Peshawar.

The expanded structure is part of PCB’s initiative to reward consistency and broaden the talent pool across regions, ensuring better player development pathways and financial security for domestic cricketers.
