Israel-Gaza conflict escalates; Pakistan calls for global intervention

Published on: October 29, 2025 3:42 PM

Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s violations of the Gaza peace agreement, which reportedly resulted in significant civilian casualties. In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Pakistan said Israel’s attacks represent a clear and serious breach of international law and the recently established peace accord. The spokesperson warned that such actions threaten ongoing international efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.

The statement expressed deep concern over reports of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City, which left dozens dead and many trapped under debris. According to international media, the attacks targeted a residential area, killing at least 91 Palestinians, including 24 children. Pakistan said these brutal acts once again highlight the urgent need for accountability and international intervention. It urged the global community to take immediate steps to stop Israel from violating the ceasefire.

The Foreign Office reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestinian issue. It said that a just and lasting solution lies in the creation of an independent, viable, and contiguous Palestinian state. The statement added that this state should be based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital. Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination under international law.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hamas of breaking the peace agreement and ordered renewed attacks on Gaza. According to Al Jazeera, Netanyahu instructed the Israeli military to carry out “intense operations” immediately. These orders led to the latest wave of bombings that caused severe destruction and loss of life. The escalation has sparked global concern about the potential collapse of the fragile truce.

In response, Hamas denied violating the agreement and accused Israel of fabricating excuses for renewed aggression. The group said Israel is obstructing humanitarian operations and preventing the recovery of bodies from beneath the rubble. Hamas called on mediators — including the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye — to ensure that humanitarian agencies can work freely. It reaffirmed its commitment to the peace deal but requested international assistance in post-war recovery efforts.
