Balochistan Blast Kills Policeman as Militants Attack Stations

A deadly Balochistan blast hit Turbat on Monday, injuring several Levies personnel and damaging vehicles and nearby buildings. Security forces and police rushed to the site soon after the explosion and moved the injured to the district hospital. According to police, the condition of two personnel remains critical. The explosion destroyed a security vehicle and damaged the deputy commissioner’s bulletproof car. Several surrounding buildings and parked vehicles were also harmed.

Meanwhile, a major militant attack occurred in Bhag town of Kacchi district. Dozens of armed men stormed the area, targeting the Levies station and other government buildings. They set the Levies office on fire and opened heavy fire on police. Officials said police immediately retaliated, leading to an intense gun battle. Two militants were killed in the exchange.

However, the attackers managed to cause significant destruction before fleeing. They broke into a judicial lockup and freed six undertrial prisoners. The assailants also damaged the tehsil office, ransacked records, and tried to enter a National Bank branch. Police forces successfully foiled their attempt to rob the bank. Several government buildings were left in ruins after the violence.

Bhag SHO Lutaf Khosa was killed during the clash, while a police constable sustained serious injuries. “Our officer was martyred during the gunfire, and one constable was injured,” SSP Kacchi Mazur Rehman said. He confirmed that two militants were also shot dead. The Levies and police have now launched a search operation to track the attackers.
